The Sauce

Bamboo Shoot Soup (great for digestive system health)

These "sauces" are more like a paste, which you dip the sticky rice and other foods into and lightly coat

Jeow Bong

Also called Luang Prabang Chili Sauce. Spicy, sweet, and tangy sauce made with roasted ingredients including galangal, shallots, pork skin, Thai chilli peppers and fish sauce. It's as challenging to make as Mexican Mole and one of those culinary delights that is so unique and distinctive that it has no peer.

Jeow Mak Phet

Also called Jeow Jalapeno. Slightly sweet and supremely spicy, with just the right amount of sugar and zing to make you shut up and start pointing accusingly at it. Point all you want, but words will be difficult to come by and they'll fall short in describing the nuanced flavors. You'll discover more as you pair it with different foods. From sticky rice and Lao Jerky...to Southern BBQ and macaroni salad...each new pairing creates something new to experience.

Jeow Mak Len

Also called Jeow Tomato. It's that spicy, tomatoey, peppery, asian-fusion salsa experience that your heart wants but your brain can't figure out how to make. Attend one of our Virtual Lao Cooking Parties and let us demystify it for you.

Molly's Story...and the Birth of Molly Sauce

Molly was born in Laos and used to ride the water buffalo to the river as a child. Her parents owned a lumber yard and had a nice house protected by a pack of German Shepherds. Then the communists showed up and the family fled to the United States and Australia to escape the invasion. Molly grew up in Louisiana and Texas and currently resides in the Sonoma County Wine Region of Northern California.

Food is central to "Lao People" culture. She learned how to cook Laotian food from her mom (currently in her 80's) and all the other elder Lao ladies at the local temple. Every Lao New Year (mid April), they get together to celebrate Tak Bat - the alms giving celebration and feast. And, what a feast it is.

Her Jeow...affectionately known as "Molly Sauce" by close friends, is a thing of legend among anyone lucky enough to try it. People can't get enough and they often claim they "put it on everything".

These sauces are too good to be kept a secret. By purchasing a seat in one of our virtual & livestreamed Lao Cooking Parties, you're helping to bring these sauces to a grocery store near you.
